I don't understand how his approval rating is HIGHER than his first term?? Can someone explain that to me?

Eight more years of Fox News, OANN, and right-wing podcasters like Charlie Kirk poisining the minds of the uninformed and uneducated voters with culture war issues....

immigrants are stealing our jobs (and eating our pets!! /s

LGBTQ issues - especially trans kids getting gender affirming care

and the delusional take that Trump was better for the economy and that Biden LET inflation get so bad despite clear evidence that it was a global issue related to supply chain problems stemming from Covid and the war in Ukraine and the fact that the US had by far the lowest inflation of any of the big industrialized economies

Strangely, it’s because he’s more well known. The field is now broken into people who like Trump and people who dislike Trump, there are no longer undecideds. Learned this on Simon Rosenberg’s Hopium Chronicles!

I've also seen it pointed out that the polls are now so flooded with partisan actors trying to manipulate the averages, as they did in the election. The number now is not directly comparable to 2017.

Under all this reasoning and issues is the coming subliminal recognition of the seriousness of climate change. Nature bats last and the citizens are deeply in denial of that truth. Thus they look to Trump to save them.

Wondered the same thing myself.

I don’t think his approval rating will ever matter anymore, he is not trying to win anyone over for reelection. He will just do what will benefit him & the rich that bought him into office. He doesn’t care about the voters that got him there, never did.

I would love to see less trump news and more discussion on how progressives can take action to help the working class and all Americans.

Trump doesn't care about anyone. He has no conscience. It makes his actions pretty easy.

I really appreciate the visuals, because the verbals are a bit overblown and misleading, at least in your third point, unless you're assuming all neutrals will side with Democrats. Of serious concern is the Republican support of Musk that shows in the fifth point. As far as lower rating in first term, I suspect that we weren't yet numb or desensitized at this point in the first term.
