We’re not going to sugarcoat it: things are bad.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk don’t care what they steal from us or who they hurt—as long as it makes them a hell of a lot richer.
But this doesn’t have to be our future.
Every day people are standing up and showing incredible courage. They’re speaking up at town halls. They’re organizing their workplaces. They’re looking out for their neighbors. And it’s making a difference.
Our goal is simply to match the courage of everyday people in this country who are saying enough. Enough of the greed and cruelty and corruption.
We created How We Fight Back to give people the tools and resources they need to take action in their own communities. When there are so many distractions being thrown at us at once, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed—and it’s important to have a place where we can stay grounded and focused on the work in front of us.
Each week, leaders from MoveOn, Indivisible, and the Working Families Power will share practical advice, sharp political analysis, and give you easy ways to plug in.
In the meantime, we encourage you to share this Substack with your friends, family members, and colleagues.
As Maurice Mitchell of the Working Families Party says: “this is a relay race, not a marathon.”
We don’t have to fight this alone. In fact, we can’t fight this alone. It’s going to take all of us doing our part.”

Lots of info out there - but not much on key questions like the when and where of events (I am constantly being asked how I knew that x or y protest was going to happen before it did) or of funding a politics of resistance (why do pleas for $ always come from ActBlue and say “not affiliated with any candidate or candidate’s committee” in small print at the bottom?). Even AOC’s pleas for money do. If you don’t want donations to flow into the general coffers of a feckless DCCC or DNC, where can you contribute to progressive, ACTIVE Dem voices? Where do good suggestions go? When there are widely endorsed ideas coming from Tim Snyder (an opposition that provides a “shadow cabinet” to offer VOCAL alternatives at a “press briefing” in a well selected site regularly) and others, where does this democratic input go? Can your organizations organize not just us on the streets, but our “representatives” to represent us? The “empty suit” town halls seem to be effective, but again, how do we actually find out when and where they will be? For example, if Elizabeth Warren can be motivated to do a NH town hall to shape what will be a tough Senate race there in a progressive pro-consumer direction, how would we find out and attend it? Help open up a better organized resistance that is open to more than highly motivated, well informed voters!
Here at the suggestion of Chop Wood Carry Water. Thanks for providing more coordinated info about actions.
